How to get more home inspection clients without guessing.

Home inspection work tends to come from a few places: real estate agents, past clients, and buyers who search on their own. A marketing plan that covers all three is more stable than one that relies on a single source.

1. Make your website easy to book from

Whoever sends a buyer your way, that buyer will probably look you up. Your site should load fast on a phone, show what you inspect and where, show a sample of your report, and put a booking button on every page. Use our website checklist.

2. Set up and maintain your Google Business Profile

For "home inspector near me" searches, your Google Business Profile is often the first thing a buyer sees. Choose the right primary category, set your service area, add real photos, and keep hours accurate. See our Google Business Profile guide.

3. Ask every client for a review

Reviews help buyers decide and are one of the signals Google uses for local results. Send a short request with a direct link after you deliver the report. Don't offer anything in exchange for reviews, and don't filter who you ask; review platforms have rules against both.

4. Make life easy for agents

Agents care about scheduling, clear reports, and a calm inspector who doesn't derail the deal. Give them an easy booking link, a sample report they can share, and a page that explains what you do. Show up on time and explain findings clearly.

5. Cover the towns you actually serve

If you drive to a dozen towns, a page for each one, written about that town's housing, helps search engines connect you with those areas. See how to write city pages.

6. Answer buyer questions in writing

Blog posts and FAQs that answer what buyers ask (what does an inspection cover, how long does it take, what happens if you find a problem) help buyers, help search engines, and give AI tools clear answers to quote.

7. Keep your details consistent

Use the same business name, phone, and service area on your site, Google profile, and directories. Inconsistent details make it harder for search engines and AI tools to tell that the listings are all you.
